A Message from Our Chapter President
Welcome to the United Faculty of Florida - Broward College Chapter.
The United Faculty of Florida and its UFF-BC Chapter are YOU and your colleagues coming together as an exercise of the right by nature (or, if you prefer, nature’s God) to associate freely with whom you will (Amendment 1 of the US Constitution) for the purpose of negotiating wages, hours, terms and conditions of our employment [State of Florida Constitution (Article I, Section 6) and Florida Statute 447.309].
Also, UFF-BC Chapter members are tasked with executing and implementing the Collective Bargaining Agreement in which wages, hours, and terms and conditions of our employment have been adopted through a bargaining and ratification process. In addition to bargaining, implementing, and executing the Collective Bargaining Agreement, our UFF-BC Chapter and the United Faculty of Florida engage in advocacy by lobbying state legislators concerning issues that are crucial to the mission of Broward College.
Whether these tasks of negotiating, executing/implementing a collective bargaining agreement, and advocating are a reality depend solely upon you, our colleagues, and me.
