The UFF-BC Chapter wishes you a productive and successful start to the year. .
Your membership and commitment to our shared goals inspire us to create positive change.
It has been a busy transitional summer for our chapter as we dealt with a sequence of important yet challenging events and situations.
Now is the time to commit to the UFF-BC Chapter.
If you are a member of the Broward College Chapter, we invite you to become more actively involved.
If you are not a member, we invite you to join us. Visit our homepage to sign up. A strong membership will not only show we want to preserve our union, but it will also make us that much more effective when we bargain with our administration for better salaries and benefits. With the United Faculty of Florida, you have a voice. In addition to negotiating and protecting your employment contract at Broward College, UFF works actively in Tallahassee to make sure that our state legislators hear our concerns on significant issues before the state.
If our membership drops under 60%, this means our UFF-BC Chapter will no longer exist; we will lose our collective bargaining agreement, and the legal power to enforce provisions regarding salary increase, hiring, firing, tenure, promotion, academic freedom, and many more benefits we have gained over the years such as:
- Sick leave and sick leave payouts
- Professional (Sabbatical) development leave
- Tuition reimbursement
- Grievance Procedures
- Protection from ‘at-will’ employment and Tenure
- Intellectual Property Rights
- Academic and workplace independence
- Free speech and academic freedom
Dues are 1% of your base salary.
